The power of incantations: what do you say to yourself on a daily basis?

“An incantation or enchantment is a charm or spell created using words. An incantation may take place during a ritual, either a hymn or prayer, and may invoke or praise a deity”. Wikipedia

The power of incantations and positive self talk

Another definition  of Incantation that I love is “Ritual recitation of verbal charms or spells to produce a magic effect.” I truly believe, in fact I know the power of incantation and the magic that can be achieved. After reading this article I challenge you to try it for a month, please come back and tell me the results!

What are incantations?
An incantation is a phrase or language pattern that is said out-loud, using energy and engaging your body. Incantations are one of the most powerful tools available for conditioning new beliefs, identity and language patterns.

Who is the number one person you communicate with on a daily basis? Its yourself of course! If your thoughts revolve around negative thinking patterns, insecurities and fears, it will be virtually impossible to feel good about yourself and achieve YOUR TRUE potential. Take the first step and really listen to yourself, what are you saying on a daily basis?

Incantations are a great way to condition your mind. Repetition causes the incantation to become a thought inside that becomes a habit. It needs to be said over and over again, as many days as possible to become engraved in your neurology. It is proven that if something is consistently done for 21 days, it becomes a habit!

Some examples of positive incantations:

Money flows easily and effortlessly into my life.

I belief in myself.

I am a good, kind and caring person.

I can find a way to live my dreams.

I make wise and fantastic choices daily that are aligned with my purpose.

Are you finding and pursuing your passion?

“There will never be a better you than you”- Warren Buffett

My definition of passion is to live your life fully and completely. It is to wake up each morning and feel alive!life with passion, love your life!

The world will always present you with challenges. You can choose to live fully, giving your unique gifts to the world, or you can choose to live out of balance.

We all have fears, we need to make fear our friend so we can push through it and find the beauty on the other side. Fear of fear may lead you to live a lesser life than you can be capable of…. By leaning just beyond your fear, you challenge your limits – you step beyond the solid ground of security with an open heart.

Own Your Personal Power : You’re Uniqueness- ‘X-Factor’! Step into your greatness/ your charisma!

Life is an ‘open door’ to all possible: Find what juices you from somewhere. Awaken your talents and light your fire!

“Live to the point of tears – intensity and with rare passion”- Albert Camus

Make your life an ongoing process of being who you are, at your deepest level. The core of your life is to find your purpose. Sometimes we start out not knowing what this is. We may start a job/business wondering if this is truly what we are meant to do. The question is that I believe you will find out as time goes on if it is, no one said you can not adjust the sails!

Don’t be afraid to make changes and take massive action. The hardest thing is to make the decision, just decide, do not second guess yourself!

“Many people are not following their passion because they are creatively blocked, paralyzed by fear or don’t have the money.”

Managing, Ownership and Leadership of change in the workplace

Ownership and Leadership of Change

Leadership and ownership is not so much about technique and methods, as it is about opening the heart. It’s about inspiration– of oneself and others.

It’s about human experiences, not processes. It’s not a formula or a program, it’s about human activity that comes from the heart and considers the hearts of others…

It’s an attitude, not a system.change leadership

The Reality

More and more is being demanded and change needs embracing by the workforce. To remain relevant as a business you must regularly redefine your way of operating, your product/service offerings. Does the workforce have the confidence, experience, and commitment to change?

Ownership AND Responsibility is needed, but what makes people choose to take this? Leaders need to engage the workforce so they decide to make the choices we need them to!

  • These days there is more awareness of personal needs, searching for meaning and a sense of purpose.
  • Often the amount of genuine heartfelt connection is missing, with reductions of ‘emotional investment’- The Job is the job attitude.

What’s needed now?

  1. Character
  2. Vision
  3. Drive
  4. Presence and Confidence

Common Issues preventing change

  • Leaders lack an understanding of their impact on those they lead
  • Lack of clarity in terms of how to behave in different situations
  • Take a ‘silo’ approach and not think team
  • Avoid or don’t care enough to have the tough conversations
  • High levels of workplace stress leading to a lack of trust and emotional connection
  • Lack of ownership
  • Revert back to Managing rather than Leading

Ingredients to Success

  • Giving consideration before any actions
  • Knowing what is important and what motivates people
  • Knowing or sensing what reactions will be
  • Tailoring the approach
  • Consistency

  1. Always look at Change with a Positive approach.
  2. As soon as you embrace change, you take back responsibility and your energy returns (you are in control!)
  3. Take your time to plan and think about what’s the best outcome/solution.
  4. Success in leading others thru change is dependent on your own behaviour. Be the Role model with the best attitude.
  5. Your attitude reflects your altitude!
  6. You will build a strong, connected and committed team, if you learn the ‘flexibility to adapt’- they will be empowered not scared!
  7. See it as an opportunity to learn new things/meet new people.
  8. Create change in ‘bite sized chunks’ (easier for people to adopt)
  9. Help people to re-draw they ‘mental maps’ – by building a future of better expectations.
  10. Have good clear open honest communication between everyone and feedback.
  11. What you focus on you get!
  12. Celebrate all successes (small wins too!) along the ‘change’ journey!

What journey do you wish for your life?

Do you reach beyond to touch the sky, or lag behind, afraid to try?

Do you reach beyond to learn anew, or hesitate–the same old you?

Do you reach beyond to test your limit,or do you tell yourself, I am timid?

Do you reach beyond to lead the pack,or do you waste time looking back?

Do you reach beyond and strive to find, better ways to stretch your mind?

Do you reach beyond to care and share, and help some others do and dare?

Do you reach beyond, expect the best, or have you given up the quest?

Do you reach beyond and claim your space, here and now, this time, this place?

Do you reach beyond and try to soar, or, sadly, play it safe once more?

“If you always do what you’ve always done, you’ll always get what you’ve always gotten.”

After writing my previous post on Goal Setting and the importance of being laser focused on your goals I came across this post. Its a very personal account of a journey which involves setting goals, figuring out what you want and making CHANGES. Being brave enough to make changes and making difficult decisions is something we can all relate to and take inspiration from!

I’ve always been someone that other people come to with their problems. The one thing that comes up as a recurring theme is how someone is trying to achieve something but is falling short of success. When someone tells me how hard they are working on something and how much they hope they reach their goal, I think it’s important to ask them what they are doing to reach that goal. It’s easy to look at someone else’s concerns and see that they haven’t made any changes and yet are expecting different results. Most people aren’t ready to hear that if you want change, you have to create change.

Even writing this, I feel like a hypocrite because I know I am probably guiltier of this than anyone I know. I stayed in an unhappy relationship for years because I was afraid to do something different. I spent years…
